BOMBS.

 Los bombardeos atómicos sobre Hiroshima y Nagasaki fueron ataques nucleares ordenados por el Presidente de los Estados Unidos Harry Truman, contra el Imperio de Japón.

 Los ataques se efectuaron el 6 y el 9 de agosto de 1945, y pusieron fin a la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Después de seis meses de intenso bombardeo de otras 67 ciudades, el arma nuclear Little Boy fue soltada sobre Hiroshima el lunes 6 de agosto de 1945, seguida por la detonación de la bomba Fat Man el jueves 9 de agosto sobre Nagasaki. Hasta la fecha estos bombardeos constituyen los únicos ataques nucleares de la historia.

Se estima que las bombas mataron a 140.000 personas en Hiroshima y 80.000 en Nagasaki, aunque sólo la mitad falleció los días de los bombardeos. Entre las víctimas, del 15 al 20% murieron por lesiones o enfermedades atribuidas al envenenamiento por radiación. En ambas ciudades, la gran mayoría de las muertes fueron de civiles.

Seis días después de la detonación sobre Nagasaki, el 15 de agosto, Japón anunció su rendición incondicional frente a los «Aliados», haciéndose formal el 2 de septiembre con la firma del acta de capitulación. Con la rendición de Japón concluyó la Guerra del Pacífico y por tanto, la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Como consecuencias de la derrota, Japón fue ocupado por fuerzas aliadas lideradas por los Estados Unidos y adoptó los «Tres principios antinucleares», que le prohibían poseer, fabricar e introducir armamento nuclear.

 The attacks took place on 6 and 9 August 1945 , and ended World War II . After six months of intense bombing attacks of other 67 cities, the nuclear weapon Little Boy was dropped on Hiroshima on Monday, August 6, 1945 , followed by the explosion of the bomb Fat Man on Thursday, August 9 on Nagasaki. Until today these are the only nuclear bombing attacks in history .

It is estimated that the bombs killed 140,000 people in Hiroshima and 80,000 in Nagasaki , although only half dead the days of the bomb attacks. Among the victims , 15 to 20 % died from injuries or radiation poisoning attributed to diseases. In both cities , most of the deaths were civilians.

Six days after the detonation over Nagasaki , on August 15 , Japan announced its unconditional surrender to the ' Allies ' , becoming formally on 2 September with the signing of the act of capitulation. With the surrender of Japan ended the Pacific War and therefore World War II . As consequences of defeat , Japan was occupied by Allied forces led by the United States and adopted the "Three nuclear principles " which forbade possession, manufacture and introduce nuclear weapons.
